Christian Cash Gifting Principles and Success Tips for Believers in Christ

Why Christian Cash Gifting?

Dear believer in Christ,

If like me the most important thing in your life is to bring pleasure and honor to the Lord, then you may be wondering if the concept of cash gifting is consistent with the Bible and if so how can you participate in this activity in a way that brings honor to the lord Jesus.

Christian cash gifting refers to both the participation of Christians in gifting programs as well as those programs that are structured in a way that respects fundamental Christian and Biblical principles. As an activity, Christian cash gifting is based on the following principles:

Christian Cash Gifting Principle no 1 (Know that God Desires your Financial Prosperity):

It is God’s will to get you out of debt and to see you prosper: (i) (2Cor 8:9- For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.).; (ii) (Rom 13:8- Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law); (Pro 22:7- The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.)....

Of course what you do with that prosperity is up to you. You can either use the wealth to glorify God or the enemy. You must also obtain the wealth in an honest and Godly manner, because the Lord detests dishonest gain ((Jer 17:11 - As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool. ). This understanding, that it is God's will for the believer to prosper financially and leive a debt-free life, is fundamental to any successful Christian wealth creation activity, because if we have the believe that God does not wish us to gain financial freedom, how on earth can will one commit oneself seriously to the activity.

Christian Cash Gifting Principle no 2 (Leverage the Resources and Talents of Others):

Wealth creation requires that we leverage not only our time and talent but that of other people. By joining forces with others in the achievement of a specific goal, we are often able to achieve more in a shorter period. No one person has all of the skills, and knowledge necessary to create the wealth we desire. The Bible expresses this principle in Deuteronomy 32:30 when it says 1 person will chase away a thousand intruders, but 2 will chase away 10 thousand of them.

The Bible also encourages us to leverage the resources and treasures of others for the aim of achieving a common purpose. Remember the parable of the loaves in Mat 14:21? In that parable Jesus has the supernatural ability and the small boy the 5 loaves. By combining their abilities and resources, the 5 loaves we turned into thousands!

Christian Cash Gifting Principle no 3 (Give and It Will be Given to You):

Whatever we want in life – money, friendship, love etc., the Bible says we must first give that thing to others and then God will return that which you have given, back to us a hundredfold (Luk 6:38 - Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.).

Note the sequence; you must give before you can receive. Elsewhere (Acts 20:35) Jesus told us it is more blessed to give than to receive. Cash gifting is based on this principle of reciprocity, sowing before reaping. In my prayers, I often pray to God to lead me to someone who needs my gift and help the most. Then I sow in faith and wait for the harvest. I will encourage everyone reading this to develop a “giving attitude” instead of a “receiving attitude”. Giving first, makes it possible for you to use leverage in accumulating wealth at an accelerated pace. The Connecting Us All (see the review section) attempts to implement this principle in a modern context.

Christian Cash Gifting Principle no 4 (Invest Your Resources):

This principle is a continuation of the previous one. When is the best time for a Christian to invest? I would say when you have very little. When the economy is at rock bottom. This is precisely the circumstance that require the most amount of faith to sow. When we sow in faith the favor and power of the Lord in our lives is made manifest.

The parable of talents (Mat 25:14-30) and the encounter between Prophet Elijah and the widow of Zarephath (1 kings 17:8-14) have a lot for us to learn from. In the parable the servant given the least amount of money buried his talent into the ground and was rebuked for that. The widow on the other gave her last piece of bread and was bountifully rewarded by the prophet of God.

Christian Cash Gifting Principle no 5 (Respect the Law of the Land):

The Bible urges all Christians to respect earthly authority, because all power and authority of kings and presidents comes from God (1Timothy 2:2). Godly cash gifting can therefore not involve breaking the law of the land. Christian cash gifting ought to involve only gifting programs that are legal and you should remember to pay taxes on your gifting income.

Christian Cash Gifting Principle no 6 (Remember to Pay Tithes):

Some may disagree with this, but I believe that when we pay tithes out of our income we are simply acknowledging the fact that we are only stewards and that it is God who gives us the ability to make wealth. It is simply honoring and thanking God. Cash gifting is an honest and ethical way of earning an income. If you are sincerely interested in helping others succeed with their lives, God will help you succeed with yours. In Christian cash gifting we honor God when we earn a legal and honest income.
